Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fair Child! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Hawk! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawk moves into the clinch. Child has picked Hawk up - he's going for a ride! Child dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hawk wants to control but Child is keeping busy and won't allow it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hawk is looking to control Child's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hawk avoid being mounted? Child is pressing down on Hawk's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hawk is holding on for now. Child stops Hawk from getting back to his feet.
Child is looking to pass Hawk's guard but actually Hawk recovers to full guard. Child looking to sit in guard and control but Hawk gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Fair Child wasn't doing enough on the ground. Hawk pushes Child up against the cage in a clinch. Child tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hawk avoids it. Child lands a hook to the side of the head. Child displaying some good clinch control by pressing Hawk up against the cage. Child trying to land knees to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Child unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hawk lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Hawk tries to pull guard but Child won't allow it.

Hawk throws a sloppy head kick and Child moves out of range easily. Hawk darts in and clinches Child up against the cage. Child misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hawk.

Hawk goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Hawk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Child throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hawk rushes Child and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Child gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Child landing knees to the body.
Hawk lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Child or not. Child tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hawk avoids it. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Child wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hawk is trying to break the clinch but Child has him pressed against the cage. Hawk unloads a knee to the mid-section. Child lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Hawk misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Child.
Child will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hawk up against the cage. Hawk misses with a body punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hawk managing to block the knees to the body from Child.
Child on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hawk gets through Child's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Nice elbow from Child. Child is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hawk throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Hawk blocks the elbow strike.

Child is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hawk is defending well for now. Hawk misses with a hook from the clinch. Hawk on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Child blocks an uppercut.
Hawk is looking to take this one to the mat. Child lands an elbow inside. Hawk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mike Hawk will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hawk closes the distance and clinches. Hawk throws a punch but it's blocked by Child. Hawk is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hawk fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hawk manages to break the clinch.
Hawk clinches up with Child and pushes him back against the cage. Hawk looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Child has Hawk pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Child pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hawk tumbling to the mat - Child dives into Hawk's guard. Child avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hawk keeping moving, preventing Child from controlling successfully. Child postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hawk is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Child missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Child trying to control but Hawk is working from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hawk doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Child wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving. Child trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Child slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hawk is looking for a sweep. Hawk is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Hawk's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hawk being controlled for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hawk manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hawk pushes Child off and gets back to his feet. Hawk closes the distance and pushes Child back into the cage. Child throws a knee to the head but misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hawk misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Child is defending well against a takedown attempt. Child is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hawk is keeping busy. Hawk wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Child is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hawk is defending well for now. Hawk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Child closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Child laying and praying for a moment but Hawk takes advantage and regains half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hawk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Child's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Child's back! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Even with his hooks in, Hawk manages to miss with strikes from the back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Mike Hawk will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

It looks like Fair Child has been cut. Child tries to land a front kick but Hawk steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hawk gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Child missing with knees to the body.

Hawk has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Child avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hawk lands an elbow that stopped Child in his tracks for a moment. Child escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hawk looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hawk not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hawk is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Child wants to control the action here but instead Hawk manages to pass to full mount! Hawk controlling from the full mount. Hawk pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawk putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Hawk wants to finish this one by submission but Child is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hawk. Hawk throws a wild left hand from mount and Child manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hawk is trying to work for a kimura but Child is defending well.
Mike Hawk is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Hawk decides to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Child tries to work over Hawk's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Fair Child has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Child lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Mike Hawk has been cut. Child wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hawk has him pressed against the cage. Hawk lands a hook that snaps the head of Child backwards. Hawk jumps guard but Child turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Hawk lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Child backwards. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Child looking to slow down the pace here. Hawk lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Fair Child's cut is getting worse. Mike Hawk seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Child can't find room to land a body shot as Hawk controls the action.
And that's the end of the fight! Mike Hawk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hawk has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
