Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero shoots in looking for a takedown. Makhnov tries to sprawl out of it but Romero keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Makhnov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Romero fails with a takedown attempt.
Makhnov gets caught flat footed, as Romero shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Makhnov is looking to stand up but Romero isn't so interested in that idea.

Makhnov controls Romero momentarily but Romero frees himself.
Makhnov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Romero defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Makhnov controls Romero momentarily but Romero frees himself.

Romero drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Makhnov dives on top into guard.
Romero has control of Makhnov's left arm, preventing Makhnov from doing any damage.
Makhnov is looking to work some ground and pound but Romero has wrist control.

Makhnov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Romero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Makhnov wants to get back to full guard.
Romero has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Makhnov defend it? Romero steps over the head and cranks it - Makhnov is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Romero!
