Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carl Menger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Menger's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bring Back The Music - by Sweatshop Union. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carl Menger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Martin!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menger slips under a jab from Martin.
Martin shoots in for a double leg but Menger sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Menger fails with an attempt to clinch.
Martin thows a body shot but no joy.

Menger rushes Martin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Martin wants a takedown.
Menger throws a head punch that misses.

Menger tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Martin's elbow.
Menger misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Martin blocks an uppercut.
Menger tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Menger lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Menger lands a right hand.

Martin gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Menger manages to get to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Menger is looking for a triangle but Martin pushes his legs off easily.

Menger has his foot on Martin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martin works his way back into a safe position though.

Menger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Martin defends it easily.
Martin wants to control from the top but Menger keeps moving.
Martin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Menger looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Martin has picked Menger up and slammed him! Menger can't keep hold of the triangle and Martin manages to pass to side control!

Menger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Martin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Martin controls the position.
Martin tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Menger is trying to improve his position.

Menger gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Martin stays in close to Menger's body and controls the position.

Menger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Martin defends well.
Martin tries to free his leg and advance position but Menger is retaining full guard.

Martin wants to control from the top but Menger keeps moving.
Martin wants to pass the guard but Menger is keeping the position.

Menger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Martin defends it easily.
Menger is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Menger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Menger holds on and takes a little breather.

Martin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Menger isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Martin stacks Menger on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Martin!
Martin cracks Menger with a big right hand but Menger just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Menger tries to improve position but can't.
Martin trying to control the action but Menger is working from the bottom.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Martin in side control, throwing shots but Menger defends.
Martin is looking to take a break and control but Menger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Carl Menger will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Martin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Menger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Martin somewhat.

Menger instigates a clinch.
Martin is trying to pull guard but Menger has him pressed against the cage.
Menger pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Martin avoids a wild elbow strike from Menger.
Menger goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Menger makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Nice elbow from Menger.
Menger lands a hook that snaps the head of Martin backwards.
Menger lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Martin backwards.
Menger lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Menger lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Martin.
Menger pushes Martin back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Menger lands a hook to the side of the head.
Menger is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Carl Menger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Martin.

A nice left hand lands by Menger.

Menger breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Menger defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Martin.
Martin is breathing heavily.
Menger wants to clinch up but Martin keeps it at a distance.
Menger scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


Martin is rocked!
OH! Martin has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Menger smells blood and charges in for the finish! Menger unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Martin sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Carl Menger!
