Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Holder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Mexico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mexico comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I want war kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Holder! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Mexico! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mexico takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Holder tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mexico looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mexico stuns Holder with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A big left from Mexico misses. Holder fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mexico has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Mexico throws a body punch but Holder moves out of range. Mexico scores with a jab. Holder acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Holder tries a head kick but it misses.
Holder dodges the punch combination from Mexico.
Mexico with a hook. Mexico chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Holder can pounce on him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mexico misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Holder.
Mexico pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Holder gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Mexico thows a big elbow that misses. Holder keeping moving, preventing Mexico from controlling successfully. Mexico trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Holder working for a triangle but Mexico defends it easily.
Mexico lands a couple of digs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holder preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Holder preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mexico postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mexico in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mexico postures up in Holder's guard and throws a big left but Holder blocks it. Mexico pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Holder is keeping the position for now. Mexico advances position into side control! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mexico throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Holder is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mexico off and has taken his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mexico just trying to survive but Holder is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Mexico can't escape the position.
Holder tries to get the hooks in deep but Mexico pushed the leg off. I would not like to be Mexico right now.
Holder doesn't have the hooks in and Mexico manages to turn into his guard.
Holder manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mexico wants to hold on but Holder pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Holder working for a submission but Mexico is keeping him at bay. Mexico is trying desperately to improve position. Holder takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Holder tries to control but Mexico wriggling away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Holder landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ron Mexico dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Holder takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Mexico uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Mexico throws a lazy right hand but Holder sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mexico swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Holder connects with a body shot that sends Mexico's belly button to the back. Mexico pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mexico throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Holder scores with a kick to the body.
Holder lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mexico will feel that in the morning. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Holder, right into the meat.
Holder scores with a nice head shot. Mexico sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Holder lands a really nice looking cross but Mexico seems unphased.
Holder feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mexico sprawling to the canvas! Mexico rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Holder finish him?!
Mexico is rocked!
It looks like Ron Mexico has been cut. A solid leg kick lands there for Holder.

That's one minute gone in the round. Holder connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Mexico is breathing heavily. Holder cracks Mexico with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Mexico falls to his knees and Holder doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Holder! Luke Holder retains his middleweight title! Luke Holder really struggled to get his t-shirt was on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Vandal Fight Boutique (prices $8 - $30) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
