Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damien Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raman Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raman Singh is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damien Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raman Singh! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Singh tries to clinch but Hughes is having none of it. Hughes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Singh. Singh obviously looking to wear him down.
Singh doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hughes counters with a single leg into guard. Singh didn't expect that. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Singh throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Hughes pushing down on Singh's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Hughes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hughes is taking a breather. Singh says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Singh tries to get to full guard but Hughes has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hughes looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hughes is thwarting Singh's attempts to control the position. Hughes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Singh manages to get to full guard.
Hughes advances position into side control! Singh gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes wants to free his trapped foot but Singh is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hughes is thwarting Singh's attempts to control the position. Singh tries to roll over but Hughes keeps him under control. Hughes stalling. Singh trying to control from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Singh fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hughes, pushing him back against the cage. Singh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hughes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hughes fails with a takedown attempt. Hughes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Singh.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hughes throws a leg kick and Singh counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hughes is lucky that one didn't land flush. Hughes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Singh defends it nicely. Hughes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Singh tries to buck Hughes off but Hughes is having none of it. Singh manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Singh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hughes keeps working. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Singh thows a huge punch but Hughes dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Raman Singh will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hughes shoots in for a takedown but Singh shows good takedown defense. Singh feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hughess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Damien Hughes has been cut. Hughes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Singh to the ground. Hughes is now in Singh's guard. Singh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hughes controls the pace. Singh looking for a sweep. Not yet Singh, not yet. Singh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hughes defends well. Singh not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Singh lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hughes! Hughes tries to buck Singh off but he can't manage it. Hughes tries to reverse the position but Singh maintains control. Singh jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hughes manages to avoid the submission attempt. Singh stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Singh fails with a takedown attempt. A solid leg kick lands there for Singh.
Nice takedown defense from Singh. No joy for Hughes on that attempt. Singh fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Singh shoots in for a double leg but Hughes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Damien Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raman Singh. Singh is breathing heavily. Singh leaves Hughes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Singh changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Singh lands a head kick!
Singh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hughes but Hughes pushes him off and we're back to square one. Singh shoots in for a double leg but Hughes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hughes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Singh sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hughes tries to close the distance and clinch but Singh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hughes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Singh but Singh pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Singh shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hughes is trying to defend but Singh finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Singh slips a nice elbow through Hughes's hands, connecting with Hughes's forehead. Singh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hughes keeps working. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Singh not landing any meaningful shots this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Raman Singh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Damien Hughes's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Hughes stuffs the takedown. Raman Singh seems to be getting the better of the standup. Singh throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Singh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hughes as he avoids it easily. Hughes gets a takedown into half guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Singh. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Hughes stalling. Singh works his way to full guard. Good work.

Singh isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hughes stacks Singh on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hughes! Singh takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hughes controlling the position from side mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes works to advance to full mount. Singh defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Singh tries to hold on but Hughes postures up. Hughes controlling the pace for now. Singh wants to hold on but Hughes pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes controlling his opponent. Singh is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Singh is trying to stand. Hughes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Singh tries to get back to half guard but can't. Singh is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Hughes looking to control and managing it successfully. Singh tries to hold on but Hughes pushes him away.
And that's the end of the fight! Damien Hughes showed his dominance in that final round. I think Singh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
