The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin throws out a loose jab but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones dives in and scores a takedown into Martin's guard.
Martin has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up.
Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jones wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.
Jones wants to stand but Martin is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gerard Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones throws a shot from downtown. Martin moves away and avoids it.

Jones rushes Martin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Martin wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Martin tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Martin breaks the clinch.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Martin is defending well.
Jones is stalling here. Martin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jones seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Martin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is looking to regain half guard here but Martin keeps moving and retains side control.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jones is trying to control the position but Martin postures up.
Martin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jones uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Martin scores with a head kick. Jones tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Gerard Jones has been cut.
A slapping body kick lands there for Martin.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Martin throws a big shot that misses.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Martin throws a head kick that misses.
A head kick misses from Martin.
Aston Martin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice sprawl there from Martin as Jones shoots in.
Martin lands a big head kick that sends Jones tumbling to the mat! Martin takes a step backwards and waves Jones back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Jones is rocked!
Martin throws a quick head kick that knocks Jones silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Martin is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

After winning the bout, Aston Martin thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
