Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chance Silver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Vronsky! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vronsky throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vronsky misses with a wild body shot. Silver blocks a jab. Silver tries for a takedown but Vronsky circles away easily and Vronsky counters with a lovely straight right hand! Michael Vronsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vronsky throws out a loose jab but Silver uses good head movement to avoid it. Silver slaps away a takedown attempt from Vronsky, before circling back to the center of the mat. Vronsky closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vronsky lands in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Silver avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Silver preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Vronsky throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Silver preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Vronsky throwing strikes from guard but Silver blocks nicely. Vronsky throws a big right hand that misses. Vronsky has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Vronsky slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silver dodges the ground and pound from Vronsky. The strikes coming from Vronsky are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Vronsky advances to mount. Vronsky putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
It looks like Chance Silver has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vronsky in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Chance Silver's cut is getting worse. Vronsky scoring with strikes but Silver is staying in there.
