Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jae Wilco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Griffin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Claw. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jae Wilco!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilco throws a sloppy head kick and Griffin moves out of range easily.
Wilco takes one to the side of the head.
Griffin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wilco manages to avoid it.
Good standup being displayed there by Griffin as he connects with a hook.
Griffin takes a swing at Wilco's ribcage but misses.
Wilco is looking to clinch.
Griffin swats away the attempt to clinch by Wilco.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Griffin. Wilco shrugs it off though.
Donk. Griffin catches Wilco right on the button with a cross.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Griffin.
Jason Griffin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wilco misses with a hook.
Jae Wilco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wilco moves in looking to clinch but Griffin pushes him off.
Wilco keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wilco shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Griffin as he jumps to the side.
Wilco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Griffin.
Griffin throws a half hearted mid kick.
Griffin jabs at Wilco's body.

Griffin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wilco.
Griffin is looking to wear down Wilco with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Good shot there by Griffin.
Griffin catches Wilco with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griffin throws a hook but Wilco avoids it easily.
Wilco throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Griffin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wilco to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Griffin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wilco is controlling him.
Griffin controls Wilco momentarily but Wilco frees himself.
Wilco looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Griffin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wilco on the ground.
Griffin is trying to keep Wilco in close.
Wilco controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jason Griffin.
Griffin gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Wilco moves into the clinch.

Wilco misses with a body punch.
Griffin tries to circle away but Wilco has him pinned against the cage.

Griffin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Griffin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Griffin misses with a series of wild punches.
Wilco keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wilco fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Griffin on the side of the head.
Wilco tries to close the distance and clinch up but Griffin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Griffin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Wilco throws a left and a right that both miss
and Griffin counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wilco shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Griffin defends it nicely.
Jason Griffin is winning the standup battle so far.
Griffin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wilco at a distance.
Griffin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wilco.
Wilco doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Griffin lands with a nice body punch.
Wilco throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick from Griffin lands but Wilco takes it in his stride.
Griffin turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Wilco is breathing heavily.

Wilco closes the distance and pushes Griffin back into the cage.
Wilco misses with a short punch on the inside.
Wilco tries for a takedown but Griffin manages to get underhooks.

Wilco pulls guard successfully.
Griffin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Griffin wants to control from the top but Wilco keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Griffin wants to get up but he can't break Wilco's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jason Griffin.
Griffin cracks Wilco with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Griffin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wilco stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Griffin ducks under a wild hook from Wilco.
Wilco misses with a left hand
and Griffin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wilco thinking.
Griffin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Griffin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wilco has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Griffin cracks Wilco with an open hand slap.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Griffin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wilco stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Griffin thows a body kick. Wilco tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Wilco doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wilco blocks a head kick by Griffin.
Griffin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Wilco takes a kick to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Griffin fakes the leg kick and cracks Wilco in the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Griffin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Wilco shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Wilco takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Griffin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Whack! Griffin lands a heavy head kick that drops Wilco. The ref tackles Griffin to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Wilco was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Jason Griffin!
