Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abbas Frnas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abbas Frnas looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frnas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Small connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Frnas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Small scores with a shot to the body.
Small throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Frnas is breathing heavily.
Frnas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Small circles away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Small punishes Frnas's body with a nice straight punch.
Small scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Small throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Frnas's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Small dives in looking to finish as Frnas flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Small's strikes! Small is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Frnas's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Frnas was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
