Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Payne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alejandro Sanchez! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Payne does no damage. Nice sprawl there from Sanchez as Payne shoots in. Sanchez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Payne is out of range and Sanchez settles back down. Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Payne looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sanchez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sanchez blocks the strikes from Payne.
Sanchez lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Sanchez cracks Payne with a big right hand but Payne just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Payne taking a bit of punishment here - Sanchez scoring with strikes. Sanchez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Payne knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Payne tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Payne keeps working. Sanchez landing strikes. Sanchez working the head and body with strikes. Payne is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Payne is trying to improve his position. Sanchez lands a nice forearm strike. Payne is trying to buck Sanchez off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sanchez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Sanchez is working Payne over with some ground and pound from side control. Payne is looking for a sweep. Payne manages to get back to half guard. Payne avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sanchez. Sanchez not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sanchez throwing shots but Payne is blocking nicely. Payne is trying to maintain the position but Sanchez is very close to passing his half guard. Payne is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Payne is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sanchez scores with a couple of nice shots. Sanchez is working for a kimura but Payne is defending it quite comfortably.
Sanchez is looking for a kimura but Payne is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sanchez to get the leverage. Sanchez looks gassed! Payne slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Payne wants to stand but Sanchez is controlling the position. Sanchez looking to sit in guard and control but Payne gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sanchez is on top in guard.
Sanchez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sanchez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Payne tries to land a sweep but no joy. Payne controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanchez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sanchez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sanchez works a leg free and moves into half guard. Sanchez sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Payne defending well though.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Payne tries to clinch there but Sanchez circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alejandro Sanchez dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Payne finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Payne looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Payne misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Payne throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Payne misses with a takedown and Sanchez counters with a single leg into guard. Payne didn't expect that. Sanchez wants to control from the top but Payne keeps moving. Sanchez advances to half guard. Payne is in trouble now - Sanchez has advanced to mount! Sanchez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sanchez tries to control but Payne wriggling away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sanchez dominating with strikes here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Sanchez tries to control but Payne wriggling away. Sanchez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Payne has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Payne! Payne avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Payne's guard. Sanchez passes easily into side control. Nice work. Sanchez working the body and head with strikes. Sanchez connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Payne some visible discomfort.

Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Payne keeps working. Sanchez lands a few punches from side control. Payne is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Payne is rocked! Sanchez working the head and body with strikes. Oh Payne is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sanchez passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Payne! Sanchez looking to finish Payne with some ground and pound. This is bad for Payne! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sanchez working the ground and pound effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez prevents Payne from getting the reversal. Payne takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Sanchez cracks Payne with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sanchez postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Payne in real trouble here! The ref calls for Payne to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alejandro Sanchez!
