The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salvidor takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Rujo looking to score a takedown here. Salvidor is defending well but Rujo drives through and ends up in Salvidor's guard.
Salvidor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rujo is controlling him.
Rujo wants to control from the top but Salvidor keeps moving.
Rujo won't allow Salvidor to get back to his feet.

and Rujo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Salvidor won't be happy with that.

Rujo clinches up with Salvidor and pushes him back against the cage.
Rujo is pressed up against the cage. Salvidor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rujo down to the mat. Rujo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rujo has control of Salvidor's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Salvidor regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Salvidor is looking to improve his position but Rujo isn't that keen on the idea.

Salvidor tries to keep at a distance but Rujo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rujo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rujo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Salvidor wants to pass the guard but Rujo is keeping the position.

Salvidor has hold of Rujo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rujo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Salvidor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Salvidor is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rujo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rujo shrugs it off.

Rujo tries to lock up and control but Salvidor gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Salvidor swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rujo is now in Salvidor's guard. A big mistake from Salvidor there, giving up the dominant position!

Well Rujo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
