Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hussak Claw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Baran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baran has chosen Beach Boys - Barbara Ann as his entrance music. Bob Baran will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hussak Claw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Baran!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Baran. That snapped Claw's head back.
Claw fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Baran lands a nice hook to Claw's body. Claw takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Baran lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Baran ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Bob Baran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Claw shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Baran defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hussak Claw. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Baran digs a good body shot into Claw's ribs.
Baran fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Claw looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Baran smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Baran feints and then cracks Claw's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Claw down.
Claw takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Claw is defended easily by Baran.
Baran dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Baran lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Baran tries to bum rush Claw with a series of wild strikes but Claw uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Baran shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Claw has his foot on Baran's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Baran works his way back into a safe position though.
Claw working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baran doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baran manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Baran got a little sloppy there for a moment and Claw has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baran has managed to get both his arms back between Claw's legs - danger averted.
Baran really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Claw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Baran drops back looking for a leg! Claw is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Claw manages to kick Baran off! Baran jumps back into Claw's guard.
Claw is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Baran defends well.

Baran drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baran jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Claw moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Baran has worked his arm free - good work by Baran!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Hussak Claw will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Claw decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Claw thows a huge punch but Baran dodges it nicely.
Baran is trying to get back to full guard.
Claw working over Baran with some ground and pound. Baran looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Hussak Claw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
