Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mondial Dos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel The Malkind (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Malkind has chosen Reckoner as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mondial Dos!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Nigel The Malkind!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos blocks the body kick.
The Malkind swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Dos shoots in and gets a takedown into The Malkind's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The Malkind can't keep his opponent in guard - Dos advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dos connects with a nice short shot to The Malkind's temple.
The Malkind has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dos is working away from the top position though.
The Malkind tries to roll over but Dos keeps him under control.

That's time! Dos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A punch lands to the side of The Malkind 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Dos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The Malkind takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Dos counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
The Malkind throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dos.
Dos swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dos.
The Malkind takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dos wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by The Malkind, who protects the arm well.

Dos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. The Malkind knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The Malkind slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Dos looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks The Malkind with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dos is trying to control the action in half guard but The Malkind is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mondial Dos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
BOOM! Dos connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Dos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dos is cranking The Malkind's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for The Malkind! He's tightened the choke and The Malkind is tapping out!
