Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kesse Nesse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JW Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that JW Walsh was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kesse Nesse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, JW Walsh! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nesse scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nesse looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Walsh lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nesse backs up against the cage.
Walsh throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nesse's waist but Nesse gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walsh off to one side. Walsh misses with a series of wild punches.

Walsh fails in his attempt to clinch. Walsh throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nesse's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Walsh gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Nesse has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Walsh regains guard immediately. Walsh doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Walsh throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Nesse loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Walsh tries to land a sweep but no joy. Walsh controls Nesse momentarily but Nesse frees himself. Nesse gets to his feet. Walsh looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's one minute gone in the round. Walsh goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Nesse punishes Walsh's body with a nice straight punch. Walsh shoots in but no luck this time. A right-left combo lands from Walsh. Walsh darts in and clinches Nesse up against the cage. Nesse prevents the takedown attempt.

Walsh shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nesse as he jumps to the side. Nesse shoots in for a double leg but Walsh sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Walsh tries a head kick but it misses.

Walsh misses with a takedown attempt and Nesse counters with a left and a right that stings Walsh. This has been an exciting period of action! Nesse lands with a cross. Walsh misses with a takedown attempt - Nesse sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Walsh fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nesse, pushing him back against the cage.

Walsh tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nesse smiles and moves away.
Walsh fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A combination from Nesse does no damage. Nesse falls off balance throwing a combination
and Walsh makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. No luck for Walsh with that takedown attempt. Walsh tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nesse swivels and escapes. Nesse stuffs the takedown. Nesse closes the distance and lands a one-two. Walsh fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Walsh throws a wild combination but nothing lands. An inside leg kick lands from Walsh. No luck for Walsh with that takedown attempt. Walsh is looking to clinch. Walsh displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Walsh clinches. Nesse prevents the takedown attempt.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Nesse escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Walsh counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Walsh is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Nesse pulls him back up using the underhooks. Nice body punch from Nesse. Nesse lands an uppercut. Walsh tries to pull guard but Nesse won't allow it.

Walsh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Walsh shoots for a takedown but Nesse saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Walsh tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Walsh feints and as Nesse raises his hands in defense, Walsh changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Walsh wants to control from the top but Nesse keeps moving. Nesse keeping full guard, as Walsh tries to pass. Walsh trying to control but Nesse is working from the bottom. Walsh pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nesse is keeping the position for now. Walsh wants to control from the top but Nesse keeps moving. Walsh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Walsh must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Walsh stands and steps away. Nesse gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nesse scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Walsh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Horrible takedown by Walsh or perhaps it was just good defense by Nesse which made him look bad. Walsh scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nesse takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Nesse prevents Walsh from moving into mount. Walsh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nesse. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Walsh is looking to take a break and control but Nesse is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nesse tries to buck Walsh off but Walsh is having none of it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nesse takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Walsh scores with punches from side control. Walsh cracks Nesse with a big right hand but Nesse just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Walsh lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but JW Walsh will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walsh wants to get back to full guard. Walsh lands with a few short shots to the body. Nesse is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Walsh has managed to free his arm - good work. Walsh works his way to full guard. Good work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nesse wants to control from the top but Walsh keeps moving. Walsh striking off his back but it's not causing Nesse any problems.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Walsh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nesse circles away. Nesse closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Nesse has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Walsh looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Nesse! Walsh pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Walsh lands a heavy elbow. Walsh lands a big elbow. Walsh trying to control but Nesse is having none of it. Walsh lands a nice shot to the head. Walsh postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Nesse looks a forlorn figure.

Nesse sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Nesse wants to get back to his feet.
Walsh not landing any meaningful shots this time. Walsh is just content to waste time from the top position. Nesse takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Nesse has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Walsh off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Walsh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nesse is fending him off so far but Walsh persists. Nope, Nesse circles away and we're back to standing. Kesse Nesse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JW Walsh. Walsh closes the distance but Nesse moves to the side and Nesse counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Walsh thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Walsh wants to stand but Nesse is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kesse Nesse overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nesse trying to control but Walsh is working from the bottom. Nesse sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Walsh's guard. Nesse performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Walsh wants to get back to full guard. Nesse stands up from half guard. JW Walsh seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nesse misses with a wild combination.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Walsh. Nice takedown defense from Nesse. No joy for Walsh on that attempt. Nesse swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Nesse fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nesse takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walsh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Walsh tries to clinch up but Nesse circles away and keeps his distance. Walsh will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nesse looks for a takedown but Walsh sprawls well. Walsh scores with a one two! Nesse had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Walsh fails to land the takedown. Nesse throws a combination that misses and Walsh counters with a big head kick but Nesse shrugs it off. Nesse throws a series of punches but Walsh moves out of range. Walsh scores with a shot to the body.
Walsh thuds his shin into the meat of Nesse's side. Walsh misses with a takedown attempt - Nesse sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walsh shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Nesse counters with a flying knee. Nice. Walsh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nesse as he avoids it easily. Nesse shoots in and bounces Walsh off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Walsh working a defensive guard but Nesse manages to pass into side control anyway.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Walsh tries to bench press Nesse off him but Nesse keeps the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kesse Nesse dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
The fight stays on the outside here - Walsh looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Walsh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nesse is fending him off so far but Walsh persists. Nope, Nesse circles away and we're back to standing. Nesse fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walsh sprawls well initially but Nesse persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Walsh tries to kick Nesse off but Nesse keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Walsh is looking to control Nesse's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Walsh avoid being mounted? Walsh is trying to get back to full guard. Walsh pushes Nesse off looking to stand but Nesse dives back in and keeps control.
Nesse is taking a breather. Walsh says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Walsh trying to control but Nesse postures up.
Walsh is looking to escape. Walsh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Walsh shoots for a takedown but Nesse saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Walsh moves into range and connects with a jab. Walsh shoots in looking for a takedown. Nesse tries to sprawl out of it but Walsh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nesse manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kesse Nesse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JW Walsh.

Walsh wants to stand but Nesse has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Nesse is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Walsh is looking to stand up but Nesse won't let him.

Walsh with a poor takedown and Nesse counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nesse shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Walsh's guard. Walsh trying to keep a closed guard but Nesse is proving a slippery customer.
Walsh wants to sweep here but Nesse controlling him for the moment. Walsh looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Nesse puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Nesse is trying to control the action in half guard but Walsh is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Walsh tries to roll over but Nesse keeps him under control. Walsh is trying to control but can't.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Walsh connects with a nice short shot to Nesse's temple. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice strikes from Walsh there. Walsh thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Nesse is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Walsh scores with a couple of nice shots. Walsh working the head and body with strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! JW Walsh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Walsh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
