The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sutkin throws a series of punches but Thompson avoids them all with ease.
Valery Sutkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Thompson clinches up against the cage.
Thompson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Thompson throws a leg kick but Sutkin checks it.

Sutkin is looking to improve his position but Thompson isn't that keen on the idea.

Thompson has hold of Sutkin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sutkin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Sutkin has left one of his arms exposed and Thompson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Sutkin screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
