The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colon scores with a nice body kick.
Colon with a poor takedown
and Bater counters with a crisp one two that drops Colon! Bater thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Colon to his feet! Colon is in big trouble!
Colon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Colon tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Colon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bater keeps working.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bater throws Colon to one side and escapes!
Colon shoots for a takedown but Bater saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bater throws a series of punches but Colon avoids them all with ease.
Colon shoots in and drives through. Bater sprawls well.
Mike Bater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Colon.
Bater sends Colon crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Bater is motioning to the referee to let Colon up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Colon is rocked!
Colon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Colon is still on wobbly legs! Can Bater finish him?
Colon looks gassed!
Bater throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Colon counters with a big head kick but Bater shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Colon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bater is fending him off so far but Colon persists. Nope, Bater circles away and we're back to standing.
Colon seems to have recovered his senses.
Bater misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bater blocks a head kick by Colon.
Bater keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Colon.
Colon tries to clinch but Bater moves out of range.
Bater throws a series of punches but Colon moves out of range.
Colon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bater looks to score with a jab to the body but Colon is just out of range.
Colon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bater thuds a left hand into Colon's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Colon takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bater wobbles Colon with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Bater dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Colon to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
