Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Solny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Molnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Molnar has chosen Thunder Rolls as his entrance music. Robert Molnar looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Robert Molnar!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Molnar tries to bum rush Solny with a series of wild strikes but Solny uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Molnar's jab looks to have found its range, popping Solny under the eye.
Solny is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Molnar.
Molnar lands with a kick to the temple. Solny shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Solny closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Molnar did well to prevent Solny getting side control.

Solny stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Solny wants to clinch up but Molnar keeps it at a distance.
A punch combination from Solny misses.

Solny darts in and clinches Molnar up against the cage.
Molnar softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Solny manages to break the clinch.

Solny closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Molnar's guard.
Solny pushing down on Molnar's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Molnar looks gassed!

We're going to have a standup here because Oleg Solny wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Molnar is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Solny fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Solny stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Solny wants it to stay on the feet.

Solny dives in and grabs Molnar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Molnar pushes down on Solny's head and hops out.

and Molnar counters with a left and a right that stings Solny.

and Solny counters with a shoot takedown. Molnar fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Oleg Solny has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Solny fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oleg Solny. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Solny gets a double leg takedown into Molnar's guard.

Solny stands up and waves to Molnar to follow him.

Solny feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Solny gets to his feet. Molnar looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Molnar can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Molnar rushes Solny and presses him up against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Solny tries to pull guard but Molnar won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Molnar scores with a kick to the midsection.
Solny throws a body punch but Molnar moves out of range.
Robert Molnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Solny moves into the clinch successfully.
Solny prevents Molnar from breaking the clinch.
Molnar is looking to control Solny's arms but Solny gets an underhook and turns him. Now Molnar has his back to the cage.

Molnar breaks the clinch.
Molnar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Oleg Solny is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Solny looks for a takedown but Molnar sprawls well.
Molnar swats away the attempt to clinch by Solny.
Molnar misses with a series of wild punches.
Molnar is breathing heavily.
Solny throws an off balance right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Solny is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Molnar's half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Molnar pushes Solny off looking to stand but Solny dives back in and keeps control.

Solny misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Solny tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Molnar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Solny swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Solny breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Solny tries to clinch but Molnar moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Solny. Those never looked like landing.
Molnar tries to clinch but Solny is having none of it.
Molnar uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Solny.
Solny shoots in looking for a takedown but Molnar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Solny's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Molnar closes the distance and pushes Solny back into the cage.

Solny content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Molnar wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Solny has him pressed against the cage.
Molnar gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Solny.

Molnar manages to break the clinch.

Solny closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Molnar tries to kick Solny off but Solny keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Solny tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Molnar lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Solny tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Molnar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Molnar lands with a shot to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Molnar is trying hard to land a takedown here. Solny sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Molnar tries to sprawl but Solny drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Solny postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Molnar to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Molnar lands a jab to the head.
Solny avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Molnar with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Molnar wants to clinch up but Solny keeps it at a distance.

Solny is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Molnar's half guard.
Solny is taking a breather. Molnar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Molnar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Molnar throws a low kick but Solny moves out of range easily.
Molnar leaves Solny with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Molnar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Solny sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Molnar somewhat.
Molnar takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Solny shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Solny showed some decent athleticism there.

Solny is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Molnar defends it well.

Solny is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
