Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong shoots in for a takedown but Petrov shows good takedown defense.
Kong looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Petrov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Petrov scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Petrov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petrov lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Kong needs to keep his hands up - Petrov had a free shot at his head there.
Kong avoids the head kick by Petrov.

and Petrov counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Kong down! Petrov is looking to finish but Kong is intelligently defending himself.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Petrov connects with a nice short shot to Kong's temple.

Dimitri Petrov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Petrov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kong.

and Petrov counters with a one-two to the body.

Kong takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Kong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Petrov throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Petrov throws a series of punches but Kong avoids them all with ease.

Kong doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Petrov counters with a two punch combo.
Petrov lands a big uppercut and Kong crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kong looks OK.
Petrov is trying to control the action in half guard but Kong is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Petrov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kong doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Petrov.
Petrov is looking for a kimura but Kong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Petrov to get the leverage.
Petrov is tying to control. Kong wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Petrov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Kong tries to roll over but Petrov keeps him under control.
Petrov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Petrov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Petrov passes to side control.
Petrov decides to take the fight back to the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Petrov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Petrov throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Petrov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dimitri Petrov dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!
Petrov lands a high kick!
Petrov scores with a head kick.
It looks like Wing Kong has been cut.
Petrov throws a head kick that misses.
Petrov lands an overhand right.
Petrov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kong's guard.
Petrov wants to control from the top but Kong keeps moving.
Kong not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Petrov pushes down on Kong's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kong is trying to control but Petrov manages to pass to mount!
Kong has left one of his arms exposed and Petrov doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Kong screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
