Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mirko McCracken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dan Severn was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mirko McCracken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Severn!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn circles away from the clinch attempt.
McCracken fails to land the takedown.
McCracken shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Severn as he avoids it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Severn. No joy for McCracken on that attempt.

Severn tries to score a power double leg takedown but McCracken sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Severn somewhat.

Severn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The referee asks Severn politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Severn prefers to stall for the moment though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Severn has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for McCracken!
McCracken might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McCracken is in all sorts of trouble here.

Severn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

McCracken's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

McCracken shoots in for a takedown but Severn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Severn counters with a single leg into guard. McCracken didn't expect that.
Severn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Severn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Severn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Severn stands and throws McCracken's legs to the side, diving into side control.

You can see the frustration on McCracken's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dan Severn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! McCracken's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


McCracken shoots in for a takedown but Severn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McCracken stuffs the takedown attempt from Severn. Severn gets slowly back to his feet.
McCracken misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McCracken is trying hard to land a takedown here. Severn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

It looks like Dan Severn has been cut.

and Severn counters with a nice double leg into side control. McCracken won't be happy with that.

Severn moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
McCracken trying to control but Severn flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
I would not like to be McCracken right now.
McCracken trying to get back to his feet but Severn is in full control for now.

McCracken tries to break free.
Severn is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
McCracken just trying to survive but Severn is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

I would just about give that final round to Dan Severn.
I've got Severn winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
