Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Whooda Mann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Bader ! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mann shoots in but no luck this time. Mann shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bader shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bader was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Bader lands a big shot there that rocks Mann but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
It looks like Whooda Mann has been cut. Bader working Mann over with strikes here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mann manages to regain half guard. Good work. Nice strikes from Bader there. Bader thows a huge punch but Mann dodges it nicely.
Mann keeping hold of Bader 's head, controlling as best he can. Mann tries to kick Bader off but Bader keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bader is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bader working the head and body with strikes. Bader landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bader missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bader scoring with strikes to the body and head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bader working over Mann with some ground and pound. Mann looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bader thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mann is breathing heavily. Bader drops an elbow to the side of Mann's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bader working the head and body with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mann is defending against the submission attempts here by Bader .
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mann has hold of Bader 's hands but Bader slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bader connects with a nice short shot to Mann's temple. Bader controlling the action here. Bader working over Mann with some ground and pound. Mann looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bader thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mann's head. Bader content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bader in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Mann tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bader !
