Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lafor Saint!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Martin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Saint misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Saint tries to close the distance and clinch but Martin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lafor Saint seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Saint lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like James Martin has been cut.
Saint thows a body kick. Martin tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Martin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Saint tries to clinch but Martin is having none of it.
Saint wants to clinch up but Martin keeps it at a distance.
Saint is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Martin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Saint is defending against the submission attempts here by Martin.
Martin trying to mount his opponent but Saint defends it.
Martin is breathing heavily.

Martin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Martin is working for a submission of some sort.
Saint wants to get back to his feet.
Martin works his way into side control.

Martin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Saint knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Martin has hold of Saint's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Saint seems comfortable defending it but Martin has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Saint is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Saint is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Martin couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). James Martin!
