Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryo Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Stevie Walker!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura scores with a shot to the body.
Nakamura's jab looks to have found its range, popping Walker under the eye.
Nakamura misses with a looping right.
Walker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Walker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Nakamura.
Ryo Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamura throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Walker.


It looks like Stevie Walker has been cut.
Nakamura throws an overhand right that lands on Walker's shoulder, as Walker tries to avoid the shot.
A slapping leg kick lands for Nakamura.
Nakamura slips under a jab.
Walker walks into a left hand.
A head kick from Walker lands but Nakamura takes it in his stride.
Nakamura thows a body shot but no joy.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nakamura loads up on a big right hand but Walker slips the punch.
Walker throws a hook but Nakamura blocks it.
Nakamura is looking to slow Walker down with leg kicks.

Walker moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Nakamura misses with a combination
letting Walker counter with a right hand.
Nakamura checks a low kick from Walker.
Walker keeps the fight on the outside.
A slow jab from Nakamura misses its intended target.
Nakamura swings away with a body shot that misses
and Walker counters with an outside leg kick.
Nakamura swats away the attempt to clinch by Walker.
Walker checks the leg kick.
Walker slips a jab and a cross from Nakamura.
Nakamura is looking to land body kicks.
Walker blocks a head kick by Nakamura.

Nakamura tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Walker's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nakamura connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Walker scrambles back to his feet.
Nakamura lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Walker lands a leg kick that knocks Nakamura off balance momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Walker is looking to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Walker avoids the elbow strike from Nakamura, against the cage.
Walker misses with a punch to the body.
Nakamura lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Nakamura tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Walker tries to work over Nakamura's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Nakamura tries a body shot but Walker blocks it.
Walker lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Walker lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Walker lands a shot to the body.
Nakamura tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Still in the clinch, Walker scores with a nice short uppercut.
Walker changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nakamura fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Walker throws a head kick but Nakamura moves out of range.
Nice cross by Nakamura.
Walker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nakamura manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nakamura scores with the left hand. Walker knows he should have avoided that one.
Nakamura lands with a nice combination. Walker backs away looking to recover.
Nakamura cracks Walker with a right hand to the side of the head.
Nakamura throws a leg kick which misses Walker's front leg but catches the back leg as Walker tries to avoid it.
Ryo Nakamura is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Walker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nakamura walks into a stiff left hand from Walker.
Nakamura scoring well with a low kick there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nakamura thows a body shot but no joy.
A solid leg kick lands there for Nakamura.

Nakamura gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nakamura makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

The fight stays on the outside here - Walker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Walker takes a kick to the side of the head.
Nakamura scores with a decent looking hook.
Nakamura shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Walker throws a head kick that misses.
Nakamura connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Nakamura misses with a two punch combination.
Nakamura throws a leg kick but Walker sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Walker moves in looking to clinch but Nakamura pushes him off.

and Walker makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Walker ducks right into an uppercut from Nakamura.
Walker with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nakamura to score with a decent uppercut.
Ryo Nakamura is winning the standup battle so far.
Nakamura throws a nice inside leg kick.
Nakamura tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Nice straight punches there by Walker. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Walker.
Nakamura throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Walker throws a body punch but Nakamura moves out of range.
Walker needs to keep his hands up - Nakamura had a free shot at his head there.
Nakamura scores with a jab. Walker acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Walker feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nakamuras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Walker throws a hook but Nakamura avoids it easily.

Nakamura throws a head kick but Walker moves out of range.

Walker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nakamura to the mat! Nakamura manages to get full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Walker stands and throws Nakamura's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Nakamura is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Walker tries to move into full mount but can't pass Nakamura's legs.
Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nakamura keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The strikes coming from Walker are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Nakamura struggling a bit here.
Nakamura tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Walker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nakamura is looking to escape.
Nakamura is looking to improve his position but Walker isn't that keen on the idea.

Walker throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Walker connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Walker throwing strikes here but Nakamura is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Walker prevents Nakamura from getting the reversal.
Walker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nakamura's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nakamura tries to reverse the position but Walker maintains control.
Poor strikes thrown by Walker there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stevie Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


That kick from Walker tenderised Nakamura's leg. Nakamura is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nakamura throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Walker defending well as Nakamura loads up on a big left hand.
Walker thumps Nakamura with a low kick.

Walker clinches with his opponent.
Walker is working Nakamura over against the cage.
Nakamura throws a knee to the head but misses.
Walker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Walker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Walker moves in looking to clinch but Nakamura pushes him off.
Nakamura tries to land a leg kick but Walker saw it coming and moves away.
Walker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nakamura moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A lazy left from Nakamura finds it's target.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nakamura blocks a head kick by Walker.
Nakamura throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Walker counters with a stiff right hand.
Walker lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nakamura backs up against the cage.
Nakamura tries to move into range but Walker moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Walker takes a swing at Nakamura's ribcage but misses.
Nakamura lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nakamura.

Nakamura throws a lazy right hand but Walker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Walker lands a hook that snaps the head of Nakamura backwards.
A nice right hand lands inside from Walker.
Walker goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Still in the clinch, Walker scores with a nice short uppercut.

Nakamura prevents a body shot from Walker.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Walker just misses with a elbow thrown towards Nakamura's brow.
Nakamura misses with a short punch on the inside.
Walker is pushing Nakamura up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Walker.
Walker goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Walker misses with the head strike.
Nakamura tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Walker avoids it.

Nakamura can't find room to land a body shot as Walker controls the action.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Walker creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Walker tries a body shot but Nakamura blocks it.

Nice body punch from Walker - that landed with a thud.

Walker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nakamura tries to clinch up but Walker circles away and keeps his distance.
Nakamura misses with a low kick as Walker jumps back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nakamura swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A lazy left from Nakamura finds it's target.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Walker, as that shot connected.

And that's the end of the fight!
Stevie Walker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Walker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
