Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gurney Halleck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as George Walker enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gurney Halleck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Walker!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker moves into range and clinches up with Halleck.
Walker can't get the takedown.
Walker fails to pull guard.
Halleck stalling the fight.

Halleck pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Halleck tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Walker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gurney Halleck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Walker.

Halleck is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Walker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Halleck just stands there and leans against the cage.

Walker shoots for a double leg takedown but Halleck sprawls well. He's pushed Walker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Walker gets tackled into the cage by Halleck. Halleck maintains the clinch.
Halleck lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Halleck lands a good knee to the midsection. Walker won't want to take too many of those.

Walker is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Halleck gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Walker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Walker has Halleck up against the cage in a clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Walker's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Walker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Halleck tries to kick Walker off but Walker keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Walker is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Halleck might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Walker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Walker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Halleck doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Walker.
Halleck is trying to stand up here but Walker is controlling him well.

Halleck is in trouble now - Walker has advanced to mount!

Halleck wants to hold on but Walker pushes him away.
Walker breaks from Halleck's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Walker throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Halleck because Walker loaded up on that one.
Walker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Walker is working for a guillotine from mount but Halleck frees his head quite easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

George Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

After the fight, Gurney Halleck was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
