The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawler goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lawler misses the shot to the body.
Lawler takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lawler looks to land a left hand but James moved out of range nicely.
Lawler works over James's head and body with a nice combination.
Lawler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
James scores with a kick to the midsection.

and Lawler takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Lawler lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
James throws a body punch but Lawler moves out of range.

Lawler scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Lawler takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lawler lands a big right hand that sends James crashing to the mat! Lawler stays standing though and waves James back to his feet!
James is rocked!
Lawler sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through James's defenses. It connects perfectly with James's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
