Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Hodges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wanderlei Silva!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodges looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.
A combination from Hodges does no damage.
Nice sprawl there from Hodges as Silva shoots in.
Hodges misses with a straight right.
Silva looks to land a body kick but Hodges moved away.
Hodges throws a shot from downtown. Silva moves away and avoids it.
Silva darts in trying to clinch
and Hodges counters with a straight right hand.
Hodges with a jab.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Hodges shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Justin Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderlei Silva.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hodges swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hodges throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hodges pinned against the cage. Hodges gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Hodges which made him look bad.
Silva walks into a left hand.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hodges paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hodges misses with a two punch combination.
Silva on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Silva drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Hodges misses with a hook. Silva ducked under it nicely.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hodges tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hodges to the ground. Hodges escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hodges scores with a jab. Silva acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Hodges bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Silva's head.

Hodges gets a takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Silva is looking for a sweep. Hodges is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hodges wants to pass to mount but Silva is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Hodges knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Hodges tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Hodges slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hodges landing with the ground and pound.
Hodges scoring with punches to the head and body.
Hodges trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hodges wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.
Hodges looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hodges in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hodges is stalling in the full guard.

Silva looking for a guillotine here but Hodges defends easily.
Hodges showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Hodges has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hodges stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hodges is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hodges is looking to stand up but Silva won't let him.
Silva keeping full guard, as Hodges tries to pass.
Hodges stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hodges working the head with strikes.
Silva is trying to get back to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva is being controlled here.

Hodges looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Justin Hodges dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Hodges misses with a double jab.
Hodges works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wanderlei Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hodges throws a hook but Silva blocks it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hodges thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hodges stalks Silva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silva's face. Silva staggers backwards, shaken.
Hodges loads up on a big right hand but Silva slips the punch.
Hodges jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Silva wants to clinch but Hodges slips to the side
and Hodges counters with a straight right hand.
Hodges lands the left hand.

Hodges feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Silva looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Hodges is defending well. Silva quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Hodges has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Silva celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
