PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Randy Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marsh comes to the cage accompanied by Texas flood. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jerry Cox!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Marsh throws a body punch but Cox moves out of range.
Marsh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cox.
Cox changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Marsh dives in and grabs Cox's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cox pushes down on Marsh's head and hops out.
Marsh shoots in for a takedown but Cox shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cox scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Marsh doesn't seem bothered though.
Cox scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Marsh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cox as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Marsh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marsh misses with a double jab
and Cox counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marsh fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cox avoids it really well and circles away.
Marsh is breathing heavily.
Marsh walks into a stiff left hand from Cox.
Marsh takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Marsh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cox but Cox pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Marsh takes a body punch but keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cox digs a good body shot into Marsh's ribs.
Jerry Cox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cox scores with a jab to the body.
Cox connects with a body shot that sends Marsh's belly button to the back.
Cox lands a lovely overhand right.
Cox scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Cox fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Marsh takes one to the side of the head.
Cox connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Cox lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Marsh at a distance.
Cox lands with a big left! Marsh is wobbled badly! Cox comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Marsh to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jerry Cox!
