Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xavier Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bolodenka Kharitonov! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kharitonov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Kharitonov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Silva is looking to take a break and control but Kharitonov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kharitonov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Silva. Silva throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Silva works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to finish this one by submission but Kharitonov is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Silva. Silva is breathing heavily. Silva avoids the attempt from Kharitonov to control. Kharitonov prevents Silva from taking his back. Silva looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Silva is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Kharitonov has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Kharitonov! Silva wants to sweep but no luck. Kharitonov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking for a triangle but Kharitonov pushes his legs off easily.
Silva wants to sweep here but Kharitonov controlling him for the moment. Kharitonov has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Silva to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kharitonov is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Silva pulls down on the head and he's put Kharitonov to sleep! This one is all over!
