Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Mercer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Tanner!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurstr�m, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnem�ki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercer throws a lazy body kick
and Tanner counters with a straight right hand.
Mercer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Mercer throws a leg kick that is checked
and Tanner counters with a slapping leg kick.
Mercer blocks a low kick nicely.
Mercer throws a looping overhand right but Tanner ducks down to avoid it.
Tanner throws a jab but it's blocked by Mercer.
Tanner closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Bobby Mercer has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Mercer.
A bone on bone clash there as Tanner blocks the leg kick.
Mercer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mercer misses with a right hand
and Tanner counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Mercer takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Mercer gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mercer throws a head kick but Tanner moves out of range.
Tanner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mercer is breathing heavily.
Tanner works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Tanner swinging wildly here.
Mercer throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Mercer lands a nice looking kick to the body. Tanner takes a step back to recover.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tanner feints and then cracks Mercer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mercer down.
Tanner lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mercer shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A cross from Tanner lands.
Tanner throws a monster overhand right that drops Mercer! Tanner follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Tanner!
Jason Tanner really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that xXx - Voodoo Labs - 159+ Energy - $45 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
