And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Munoz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Souza to the mat! Souza manages to get full guard.
Munoz connects with a couple of short punches.
Munoz is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Munoz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Souza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Munoz, into his guard.
Munoz scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Munoz shoots for a double leg takedown but Souza sprawls well. He's pushed Munoz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Souza is defended easily by Munoz.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Souza has his takedown stuffed
and Munoz counters with a shoot takedown. Souza fights it but they end up in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Munoz works over Souza with some ground and pound from guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Souza not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Souza utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Munoz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Souza works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Munoz passes Souza's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Souza is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Munoz is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Souza is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
