Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklyn Vass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vass is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Highway to Hell (AC/DC). Jon Stone has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Stone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklyn Vass! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vass swats him away and circles back towards the center. Stone darts in and clinches Vass up against the ropes. Stone lands a knee to the body.

Vass looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stone holding his opponent close, against the ropes.
Stone crunches a lovely knee into Vass's ribcage. Stone using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Stone lands a good knee to the midsection. Vass won't want to take too many of those. Stone breaks the clinch.
Stone moves into range and clinches up with Vass. Stone landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Stone looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Vass shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stone as he jumps to the side. Stone has managed to clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stone is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Vass is keeping busy. Stone breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Stone dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stone getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Stone connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Stone lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Stone tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Vass paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vass changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stone tries to avoid it but Vass manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stone to the ground. Stone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jon Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklyn Vass. Stone scores with a push kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stone darts in and clinches Vass up against the ropes. Stone is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Stone breaks from the clinch.

Stone tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Franklyn Vass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vass shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stone but Stone pushes him off and we're back to square one. Stone wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vass with poor footwork there. Jon Stone dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Stone connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Stone circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vass gets a takedown into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Stone pushes Vass off looking to stand but Vass dives back in and keeps control.
Stone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vass on the ground. Vass takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Vass missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stone tries to kick Vass off but Vass keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone manages to escape and get back to his feet! Vass shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stone sprawls well. Stone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vass gets slowly back to his feet. Stone tries to clinch there but Vass circles away.

Vass on the wrong end of a nice hook. Stone fails in his attempt to clinch. Vass tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Stone manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Vass fails to land the takedown. Jon Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklyn Vass. Vass is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stone moves into range and connects with a jab.

Vass takes an elbow to the forehead. Vass jumps guard but Stone stands there with Vass around his waist. Vass gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Stone is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Vass walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Jon Stone is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Vass throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stone's waist but Stone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vass off to one side. Stone fails with an attempt to clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stone seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Jon Stone has scored more points in the clinch so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stone with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Franklyn Vass has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vass drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Stone showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
