Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Utheg Bloodrock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cavin Nash! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nash dodges the punch combination from Bloodrock.
Nash fails with a takedown attempt. Nash fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bloodrock sprawls well initially but Nash persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bloodrock is looking for a sweep. Nash is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nash content to control rather than advance. Bloodrock manages to get to full guard.
Bloodrock working for a triangle but Nash defends it easily.
Bloodrock escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nash gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bloodrock looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nash is one step ahead there. Nash must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nash wants to control from the top but Bloodrock keeps moving. Nash lands a couple of elbows. Nash trying to control but Bloodrock is working from the bottom. Bloodrock lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nash! Nash really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bloodrock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bloodrock trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bloodrock looking to finish with strikes here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nash is desperately trying to improve his position but Bloodrock has a good base and remains in mount. Bloodrock throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nash because Bloodrock loaded up on that one. Bloodrock throws some wild stikes that Nash manages to avoid easily.
The referee warns Nash that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bloodrock scoring with strikes but Nash is staying in there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bloodrock throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Nash is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bloodrock cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bloodrock thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Bloodrock content just to control the position here. Bloodrock tries to control but Nash wriggling away. Nash takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Bloodrock thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Bloodrock prevents Nash from getting the reversal. Bloodrock throwing strikes here but Nash is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bloodrock lands a nice shot to the head. Bloodrock thowing shots but they're missing. Nash is trying desperately to improve position. Bloodrock connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Bloodrock is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nash to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nash shrugs it off. Bloodrock landing strikes, looking to finish! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bloodrock throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Bloodrock lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nash hang on? Nash avoids a series of strikes thrown by Bloodrock.

Utheg Bloodrock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nash is squirming around, avoiding Bloodrock's attempts to control the action. Nash in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nash can do anything to dispel that myth. Nash is looking to get to half guard. Bloodrock goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Nash turns into him and now he's in Bloodrock's guard.

Nash landing some decent shots from guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bloodrock is on top in guard.

Nash is looking to clinch. Bloodrock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nash circles away quickly and effectively. Nash gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bloodrock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nash swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bloodrock is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Nash looking to control.
Nash wants to stand and escape but Bloodrock is having none of it. Bloodrock is looking to work some ground and pound but Nash has wrist control. Nash avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Nash preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nash is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bloodrock is controlling him. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Nash tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nash takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nash preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bloodrock trying to control the position from guard on top but Nash is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bloodrock is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nash can do to turn this around? Nash working a defensive guard here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Bloodrock wants to control from the top but Nash keeps moving.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bloodrock lands with a nice combination. Nash backs away looking to recover.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bloodrock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nash tries to avoid it but Bloodrock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nash to the ground. Nash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bloodrock defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nash. Bloodrock scores with a jab to the jaw. Bloodrock uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Nash has time to react. Bloodrock misses with a few strikes there.
Nash dives in and grabs Bloodrock's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bloodrock pushes down on Nash's head and hops out. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nash gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bloodrock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nash's guard. Utheg Bloodrock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cavin Nash. Bloodrock drops back looking for a leg! Nash is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nash manages to kick Bloodrock off! Bloodrock jumps back into Nash's guard. Bloodrock preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bloodrock working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Nash's head. Nash avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Nash controls Bloodrock momentarily but Bloodrock frees himself. Bloodrock throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nash works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bloodrock with a flurry of punches that miss. Bloodrock throws a strike but Nash rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Bloodrock lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nash! Bloodrock looking to isolate an arm here. Nash doesn't see it coming and as Bloodrock extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Bloodrock!
