Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Albright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Snow! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snow shoots in looking for a takedown. Albright tries to sprawl out of it but Snow keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Albright manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Snow shoots in but no luck this time. Snow circles away from the clinch attempt.
Albright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Snow paws at him with a jab and circles away. Snow shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Albright manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Snow pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Albright is keeping the position for now. Snow is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Snow trying to control the position from guard on top but Albright is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Albright pushes Snow off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Albright gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Albright lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Albright is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Snow can't fight it off and eventually Albright manages to take the fight to the floor. Snow looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Snow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Albright gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Snow throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Albright trying to control but Snow is working from the bottom. Snow looking for a guillotine here but Albright defends easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Snow is looking to sinch up a triangle. Albright throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Snow's body to avoid the submission. Snow has instead reached around Albright's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Snow arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Snow! In his post fight interview, John Snow started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
