PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joey Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Suter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shoot To Thrill by AC/DC. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kent moves into full guard.
Suter tries to stand but Kent is controlling from the bottom.

Kent has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Suter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Suter looking to sit in guard and control but Kent gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kent forces his way into half guard.

Kent stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Suter to get to his feet.
Suter is looking to clinch.

Kent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kent is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kent controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kent has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Kent closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kent lands in his opponent's guard.

Kent is working to tighten is grip on Suter's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Suter has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kent is really squeezing tight and eventually Suter passes out! Kent breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
