The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manuel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A combination from Manuel does no damage.
Manuel lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Manuel misses with an uppercut.
Gutierrez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gutierrez there as he acknowledges the shot.
Donk. Manuel catches Gutierrez right on the button with a cross.
Gutierrez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Manuel.
Gutierrez swings for the body but Manuel moves out of range.
Manuel throws a nice looking combination but Gutierrez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Manuel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Manuel misses with a straight left.
Manuel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gutierrez manages to avoid it.
Manuel scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Manuel throws a shot to the body.
Gutierrez slips a jab and a cross from Manuel.

Gutierrez takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Manuel checks a low kick from Gutierrez .
Manuel cracks a nice hook into Gutierrez 's ribs.
Gutierrez looks to throw the jab but Manuel is out of range.

Gutierrez thows a body shot but no joy.
Gutierrez blocks a head kick by Manuel.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Manuel gets control of Gutierrez 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Manuel will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gutierrez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Manuel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gutierrez has managed to get both his arms back between Manuel's legs - danger averted.
Gutierrez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Manuel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gutierrez trying to control the position from guard on top but Manuel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gutierrez tries to free his leg and advance position but Manuel is retaining full guard.

Manuel wants to sweep but no luck.
Manuel is looking for a triangle but Gutierrez pushes his legs off easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Manuel is on top in guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gutierrez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Manuel is pushing down on Gutierrez 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gutierrez is fighting to maintain full guard but Manuel has managed to sneak the leg through.
Manuel prevents Gutierrez from improving his position.
Manuel is trying to work for a kimura but Gutierrez is defending well.
Manuel tries to pass to full mount but Gutierrez defends it.
Manuel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Manuel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Manuel in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gutierrez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Manuel!
