Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Walther (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piper comes to the cage accompanied by Real Men Wear Skirts. Walther is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Judith by A Perfect Circle. Roddy Piper could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Carl Walther's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roddy Piper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Walther!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walther gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Walther is trying to control the position but Piper postures up.
Walther trying to strike off his back.
Piper won't allow Walther to get back to his feet.
Piper wants to control from the top but Walther keeps moving.
Piper stops Walther from standing up.
Walther looking for a sweep. Not yet Walther, not yet.
Walther trying to keep a closed guard but Piper is proving a slippery customer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Piper throws out a loose jab but Walther uses good head movement to avoid it.
Walther tries to clinch but Piper moves out of range.
Nice defenses there by Walther.
A lazy left from Piper finds it's target.
Walther fails in his attempt to clinch.
Walther tries to clinch but Piper is having none of it.
Some bone on bone action there as Piper checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Piper throws a hook but Walther avoids it easily.
Piper gets the takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Piper cracks Walther with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Piper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walther keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Piper controls the position.
Piper trying to control the action but Walther is working from the bottom.
Piper decides to stand back up. Piper steps back and let's Walther get back to his feet.
Walther tries to close the distance and clinch but Piper swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Piper throws a series of punches but Walther moves out of range.
Piper uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Walther is rocked!
It looks like Carl Walther has been cut.
Walther looks gassed!
Walther fails with the takedown
and Piper counters with a double leg. Walther bangs his head on the mat and seems to be on queer street here... Piper follows up with punches and the ref steps in to end the fight! It was the slam that caused all the problems.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Roddy Piper!
