Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hildebert Fabian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donnie Darko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Darko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Fabian is looking to regain half guard here but Darko keeps moving and retains side control.
Fabian is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Fabian defending against the ground and pound.
Fabian tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Darko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fabian can do anything to dispel that myth.

Darko is looking for a kimura but Fabian is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Darko to get the leverage.

Fabian might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Darko kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Darko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fabian swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fabian had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Darko defends it easily.
Fabian bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Darko's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fabian working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Darko's head.
Darko has momentary wrist control but Fabian slips an elbow through the middle.
Darko wants to sweep here but Fabian controlling him for the moment.

Darko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Darko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fabian must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fabian sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Darko's guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fabian is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Darko!
Fabian cracks Darko with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
