Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Gibson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Bowman! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
It looks like Robert Gibson has been cut. Gibson thows a body shot but no joy. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Bowman. Bowman dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Gibson lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Pete Bowman has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gibson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Gibson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Pete Bowman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bowman gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bowman scores with a shoulder strike. Bowman tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Gibson's elbow. Gibson has Bowman pressed against the cage.
Gibson is looking to break free of the clinch but Bowman has double underhooks. Bowman lands a hook to the side of the head. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Gibson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bowman trying to land knees to the body.
Bowman lands with a short head shot on the inside. Bowman lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gibson backwards. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gibson. Bowman breaks the clinch.
Bowman is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Gibson swats away the attempt to clinch by Bowman. Bowman lands a jab. Bowman keeps Gibson at a distance using the push kick. Gibson avoids the body shot from Bowman.
Gibson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bowman lands a jab to Gibson's midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Bowman! Gibson is out on his feet! Bowman rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Gibson is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Gibson is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Bowman!
