Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason David Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dee Penn Dent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ron Wasserman - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Theme Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason David Frank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dee Penn Dent!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank keeps the fight on the outside.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dent. Frank does a little dance to reset his feet.
Frank misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dent will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Dent throws the kick towards the body but Frank avoids it.
Dent swinging wildly here.
Dent swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Frank throws a low kick, looking for Dent's leg but Dent calmly moves out of range.
Frank is looking to chop away at Dent's legs.
Dent changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Frank tries to avoid it but Dent manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Frank to the ground. Frank escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Frank gets caught napping as Dent dives in and scores a takedown. Frank manages to retain guard.
Dent is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Frank has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dent throws a low kick but it's checked well by Frank.

Frank drives through with a takedown into Dent's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Dent wants to sweep here but Frank controlling him for the moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dent is trying to keep Frank in close.
Frank tries to free his leg and advance position but Dent is retaining full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dent ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Frank moves away.
Frank throws a sloppy head kick and Dent moves out of range easily.
Jason David Frank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dent misses with a double jab.
Dent throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Frank sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Frank takes one to the side of the head.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Frank.
Dent misses with a body shot.
Frank throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Frank looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Good leg kick by Frank there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Dent looks gassed!
Dent on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Frank. Frank obviously looking to wear him down.
Frank throws a nice outside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Frank tries a head kick but it misses.
Frank blocks a low kick nicely.

Frank shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Frank showed some decent athleticism there.
Dent is concentrating on defense, preventing Frank from advancing position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dent is in trouble now - Frank has advanced to mount!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dent is desperately trying to improve his position but Frank has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dent throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dent takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Frank uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dent.
Frank moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Dent tried to score with a low kick but Frank checks it.

Frank sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Frank wants to control but Dent is keeping busy.
Dent thows a huge punch but Frank dodges it nicely.
Dent trying to control from Frank's half guard. Frank has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Frank is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Frank keeping moving, preventing Dent from controlling successfully.

Dent passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Frank is trying to control Dent's posture but Dent avoids it.

The strikes coming from Dent are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dent cracks Frank with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Frank manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Frank wants to pass to mount but Dent is defending the position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Frank moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Frank avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dent scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Frank walks into a stiff left hand from Dent.
Dent lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Frank at a distance.
A head kick from Frank lands but Dent takes it in his stride.
Frank throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

and Frank takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dent throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dent takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Dent lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Frank scores with a nice body kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Frank fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dent, pushing him back against the cage.

Frank has clasped his hands together around Dent's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Dent tries to bench press Frank off him but Frank keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frank just content to control the position.

Frank is trying to get an arm triangle but Dent is defending well.
Dent is looking for a sweep.
Jason David Frank is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Dent seems a little lost for a moment, as Frank dominates the positioning.

Frank working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Dent seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Frank does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dent connects with a nice short shot to Frank's temple.
Frank is trying to control but can't.

Frank wants to improve his position but Dent is controlling well.
Dent is taking a breather. Frank says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Frank is looking for a sweep. Dent is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dent looks to land a strike but Frank avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Dent trying to control the position from guard on top but Frank is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dent is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Dent working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Dent content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Frank has locked up a guillotine! Frank's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Dent is holding on here and Frank must be using up a lot of energy. Dent has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Frank gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
