Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Horse Spudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jackson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to If I cant do it.. Curtis Jackson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Horse Spudd! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Spudd pushes him off. Jackson misses the jab. Jackson lands a nice looking body kick. Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Spudd pushes him off. Jackson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Spudd looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson clinches up against the cage. Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Spudd walks forward, straight into a front kick from Jackson. Jackson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Spudd eats them both and turns towards Jackson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Horse Spudd has been cut. Jackson keeps Spudd at a distance using the push kick. Jackson looks to land a combination but Spudd avoids it well. Jackson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Spudd at a distance.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spudd but Spudd pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jackson is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson clinches with his opponent.
Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jackson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spudd managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Jackson.
Spudd is trying to control Jackson's posture but Jackson avoids it. Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jackson taking a breather here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson trying to control the action but Spudd is working from the bottom. Jackson tries to advance to mount but can't. Jackson has knee on belly and moves into mount. Spudd blocking the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson controlling the position easily from mount. Jackson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jackson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Spudd has worked his arm free - good work by Spudd!
Jackson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jackson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jackson wants to control but Spudd is keeping him busy. Spudd is looking for a sweep. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jackson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Spudd has escaped the position, nice work there. Jackson trying to control the action but Spudd is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Curtis Jackson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Horse Spudd's cut. That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jackson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Jackson wants to advance to full mount but Spudd doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Jackson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Spudd is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jackson, into his guard. Spudd is looking to stand up but Jackson won't let him. Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spudd can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jackson trying to keep a closed guard but Spudd is proving a slippery customer.
Spudd must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spudd trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jackson pulls Spudd in close to prevent any damage. Spudd is working Jackson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jackson looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Spudd is defending well. Jackson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Spudd has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jackson celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
