Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shea Ohmsford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Osiris Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ohmsford comes to the cage accompanied by Kick it Down. Smalls has chosen Biggie Smalls - Niggas Bleed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shea Ohmsford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Osiris Smalls!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ohmsford misses with an uppercut.
Ohmsford throws a series of punches but Smalls avoids them all with ease.
Smalls shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ohmsford as he jumps to the side.

Smalls throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ohmsford tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Smalls is in Ohmsford's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Smalls's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Smalls trying to control the position from guard on top but Ohmsford is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ohmsford looking for a guillotine here but Smalls defends easily.

Ohmsford is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smalls is aware though and is defending well.
Smalls slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Smalls lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ohmsford has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smalls can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smalls is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Ohmsford had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smalls defends it easily.

Smalls not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Smalls wants to control from the top but Ohmsford keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smalls stays in close to Ohmsford's body and controls the position.
It looks like Smalls might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Osiris Smalls has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Smalls shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ohmsford as he jumps to the side.

Smalls drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smalls advances to mount.
Smalls takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Smalls tries to control but Ohmsford wriggling away.
Smalls putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smalls prevents Ohmsford from getting the reversal.
Smalls sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ohmsford regains half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smalls is trying to control the action in half guard but Ohmsford is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Osiris Smalls dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Smalls fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Smalls tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ohmsford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smalls somewhat.
Smalls shoots in and drives through. Ohmsford sprawls well.
Shea Ohmsford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Osiris Smalls.
Smalls looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ohmsford is fending him off so far but Smalls persists. Nope, Ohmsford circles away and we're back to standing.

Ohmsford gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smalls to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Smalls got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ohmsford has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smalls has managed to get both his arms back between Ohmsford's legs - danger averted.
Smalls is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Osiris Smalls hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Ohmsford connects with a body shot that sends Smalls's belly button to the back.
Ohmsford leaves Smalls with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Smalls throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ohmsford's waist but Ohmsford gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smalls off to one side.

Smalls takes the fight into the clinch.
Ohmsford is pressed up against the cage. Smalls has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ohmsford down to the mat. Ohmsford avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Smalls decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ohmsford moves into full guard.
Ohmsford keeping moving, preventing Smalls from controlling successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Osiris Smalls.

Smalls drives through with a takedown into Ohmsford's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Ohmsford keeping moving, preventing Smalls from controlling successfully.
Smalls is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Osiris Smalls.

Smalls shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Ohmsford can't escape the position.
Smalls tries to control but Ohmsford wriggling away.
Osiris Smalls has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ohmsford is trying to escape the mount.

Ohmsford sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Smalls is taking a breather. Ohmsford says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Smalls thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ohmsford's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smalls is looking to advance position but Ohmsford won't allow it.
Smalls moves into full mount! Ohmsford won't be happy about that!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Osiris Smalls showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Smalls looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ohmsford is fending him off so far but Smalls persists. Nope, Ohmsford circles away and we're back to standing.

Smalls shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ohmsford is staying active underneath Smalls, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Smalls working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Ohmsford's thigh. Ohmsford counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Smalls seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Smalls throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ohmsford counters with a right hand to the body.
Osiris Smalls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smalls closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smalls lands in his opponent's guard.
Smalls takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Smalls distracts Ohmsford with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smalls trying to control but Ohmsford is working from the bottom.

Ohmsford has his foot on Smalls's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smalls works his way back into a safe position though.

Smalls postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ohmsford is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smalls, into his guard.

Ohmsford thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Smalls trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Osiris Smalls is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ohmsford pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smalls is keeping the position for now.
Smalls pulls Ohmsford in close to prevent any damage.
Smalls is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Smalls looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Ohmsford with the active half guard here but Smalls passes nicely into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Ohmsford is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smalls is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Osiris Smalls comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Smalls winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
