Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arcturus Balfour (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Lobe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Arcturus Balfour has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arcturus Balfour!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Lobe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balfour slips under a jab.
Balfour bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lobe's head backwards.
Balfour scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lobe doesn't seem bothered though.
Balfour uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lobe.
Lobe looks to land a right hand but Balfour moved out of range.
Balfour sizes up Lobe with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Lobe misses the jab.
Balfour throws out a loose jab but Lobe uses good head movement to avoid it.
Balfour uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lobe.

Balfour scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lobe in his tracks.

Arcturus Balfour is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lobe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Balfour manages to avoid it.
A punch lands to the side of Lobe 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Balfour throws a good cross that connects.
Balfour moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Lobe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lobe looks to land a left hand but Balfour moved out of range nicely.

Balfour swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Balfour slips a jab from Lobe.
Balfour swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lobe shoots in looking for a takedown. Balfour tries to sprawl out of it but Lobe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Balfour manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lobe throws a hook but Balfour avoids it easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lobe looks to score with a jab to the body but Balfour is just out of range.
Balfour misses with an uppercut. Lobe saw that one coming.
Lobe is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Balfour wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Lobe stuns Balfour with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Lobe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Balfour moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lobe closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Balfour fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lobe manages to avoid it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lobe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lobe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Balfour as he avoids it easily.
Arcturus Balfour has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Lobe.
Balfour paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

and Balfour counters with a stiff right hand.
Balfour misses the jab.
Lobe lands a lovely overhand right.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lobe drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lobe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Arcturus Balfour will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lobe shoots in for a double leg but Balfour sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Balfour swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Balfour counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Balfour stalks Lobe and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lobe's face. Lobe staggers backwards, shaken.

Lobe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lobe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Balfour, who protects the arm well.
Balfour tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Balfour is working hard here to advance position.

Lobe tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lobe has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Balfour knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lobe on the ground.
Balfour is not content to let Lobe control the position.

Brian Lobe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Lobe is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Balfour has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Balfour!

Brian Lobe has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lobe is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Balfour is surviving well by controlling Lobe's body position as best he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lobe prevents Balfour from getting the reversal.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brian Lobe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lobe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
