Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mick Frey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mick Frey has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mick Frey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Billy Slater!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frey pushes Slater up against the cage in a clinch.
Slater looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Slater can't break the clinch.
Frey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Slater misses with a double jab
and Frey counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Frey.
Frey pulls guard successfully.
Frey has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Frey is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Slater tries to free his leg and advance position but Frey is retaining full guard.
Slater is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Slater looking to sit in guard and control but Frey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Slater is trying to keep Frey in close.
Slater has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Frey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Slater.
Frey is looking to take a break and control but Slater is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Frey staying calm.
Slater is not content to let Frey control the position.
Frey moves into full mount!
Frey looking to ground and pound but Slater is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frey in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Frey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Frey scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Slater?

Frey thowing shots but they're missing.
Slater tries to reverse the position but Frey maintains control.
Frey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slater is working to get back to half guard.
Slater is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Slater taking shots to the head.

Frey with a couple of short strikes.
Frey sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Slater defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Frey.
Frey unloading with bombs!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Frey thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slater tries to improve his position but instead Frey has taken his back!
Frey avoiding Slater 's attempts to control his hands.
Frey is trying to stick to Slater's back but Slater is turning into Frey. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Frey's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Slater.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mick Frey dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Slater misses with the combination.
Slater moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
A nice combination there by Slater.
No joy there for Frey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Frey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slater as he jumps to the side.
Frey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Slater pinned against the cage. Slater gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slater misses with a few strikes there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Slater drops Frey with a left right combo! Slater follows him down to the ground into side control.
Frey is rocked!
Slater wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Frey, who protects the arm well.
Oh Frey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Slater is trying to get an arm triangle but Frey is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slater has an Americana. Frey didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Slater is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Slater hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Billy Slater!
