Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sergio Gonzalez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George Kennedy! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice leg kick lands there from Gonzalez. Gonzalez throws a leg kick but Kennedy sees it coming and checks it nicely. Kennedy dodges the punch combination from Gonzalez.
Kennedy lands with a nice body kick. Gonzalez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kennedy counters with an inside leg kick. Gonzalez throws a lazy uppercut
and Kennedy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Gonzalez jabbing away but nothing is landing. Gonzalez swinging wildly here.
Sergio Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kennedy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gonzalez tries to avoid it but Kennedy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gonzalez to the ground. Gonzalez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gonzalez moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A telegraphed right hand from Gonzalez misses the target. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A right-left combo lands from Gonzalez.
It looks like George Kennedy has been cut. Kennedy lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kennedy lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez throws a wild body kick that Kennedy sees coming a mile off. Kennedy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gonzalez misses with a looping left. Gonzalez throws a looping overhand right but Kennedy ducks down to avoid it. Gonzalez misses with a double jab.
Gonzalez throws a nice looking combination but Kennedy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A leg kick checked by Kennedy. Gonzalez misses with a leg kick and Kennedy counters with a good, hard body kick but Gonzalez shrugs it off. Kennedy throws a leg kick but Gonzalez sees it coming and moves out of range. Gonzalez misses with a few strikes there.
Gonzalez attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Kennedy misses with a straight right. Kennedy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Kennedy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gonzalez.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kennedy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gonzalez. A telegraphed right hand from Gonzalez misses the target. Kennedy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kennedy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kennedy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Kennedy sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kennedy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gonzalez defend it? Kennedy steps over the head and cranks it - Gonzalez is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Kennedy!
