Slater's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen. Mong has chosen I ain't never scared as his entrance music. The key to victory for Jack Slater has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Check Mong!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater lands with a shot to the body.
Slater misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mong.
Slater throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mong takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jack Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A cross from Slater lands.
Mong shoots in for a double leg but Slater sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Slater swings for the body but Mong moves out of range.
Mong shoots for a double leg takedown but Slater sprawls well. He's pushed Mong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Slater connects with a body shot that sends Mong's belly button to the back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Slater lands an overhand right.
Mong is trying hard to land a takedown here. Slater sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jack Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Check Mong.

Mong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Slater prevents Mong from moving into mount.
Slater knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mong on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mong trying to control the position but Slater is working away.

Slater parries the strikes from Mong easily there. Mong is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Slater to escape.
Slater tries to improve position but can't.
Mong throws a strike aimed at the side of Slater's head but Slater avoids it well.
Slater struggling a bit here.

Slater is not content to let Mong control the position.
Mong working the strikes but Slater uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Mong wants to advance to full mount but Slater doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Mong working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mong throws and elbow that misses. Slater uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mong's guard. Nice move by Slater!
Slater has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Slater wanted to stand there but Mong had control of the position.
Slater preventing the sweep.

Slater looking to pass the guard.
Slater wants to stand and escape but instead Mong has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Mong is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Mong trying to control the position from guard on top but Slater is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Slater wants to sweep but no luck.
Slater keeping moving, preventing Mong from controlling successfully.
Slater has control of Mong's left arm, preventing Mong from doing any damage.

Slater wants to get back to his feet but Mong is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Check Mong wasn't active enough on the ground.
Slater misses with an uppercut. Mong saw that one coming.
Slater throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mong moves away from the strike by Slater.
Mong avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mong closes this distance looking for a takedown but Slater circles away.
Mong moves out of range of the strikes.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Mong misses with a double jab.
Slater thows a left - swing and a miss!
Slater fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mong manages to avoid it.
Slater ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mong moves away.
Mong tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slater swivels and escapes.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Slater.
Slater bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A good leg kick by Slater.
Mong blocks a head kick by Slater.
A lazy left from Slater finds it's target.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Mong scores with a nice right hand.
Slater throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mong on the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mong has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Slater.
Mong looks gassed!
Slater throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mong doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Slater throws a nice inside leg kick.
Slater fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mong.
Slater misses with an uppercut. Mong saw that one coming.
Slater staying out of range there.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Slater lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Slater punishes Mong's body with a nice straight punch.
Slater misses with a wild combination.
Mong's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Slater connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mong scrambles back to his feet.
Slater scores with a nice head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Slater is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
No joy there for Mong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Slater is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
Slater displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mong.
Slater uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Mong avoids the body shot from Slater.
Mong gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Slater gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Mong is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Slater!
