Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omar Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryo Kanzaki! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson leaves Kanzaki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jackson wants to slow Kanzaki down by chopping away at his legs. Kanzaki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily. Good work by Kanzaki as he checks the leg kick. Jackson lands a jab-cross combination. Kanzaki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jackson to the mat! Jackson manages to get full guard. Kanzaki preventing the sweep. Kanzaki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kanzaki drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kanzaki has Jackson in his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kanzaki throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kanzaki won't allow Jackson to get back to his feet. Kanzaki drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kanzaki has Jackson in his guard. Kanzaki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jackson is fighting to break Kanzaki's control of his arms but Kanzaki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Kanzaki is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Kanzaki is keeping the position.
Ryo Kanzaki has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Kanzaki tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kanzaki. Jackson is looking to chop away at Kanzaki's legs. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Some wild striking there from Jackson.
Omar Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jackson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Omar Jackson dominated that round. That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Kanzaki moves out of range easily. A punch combination from Jackson misses. Kanzaki checks a leg kick. Kanzaki ducks under a wild hook from Jackson. Jackson misses with a double jab.
Nice shot lands for Jackson. Kanzaki has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Omar Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jackson throws a leg kick so Kanzaki counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kanzakiis looking to pass into half guard but Jackson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jackson is in guard. Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kanzaki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson forces his way into half guard. Jackson trying to advance position but Kanzaki counters by regaining guard. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Kanzaki is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kanzaki pulls Jackson in close to prevent any damage. Jackson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kanzaki looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jackson looking to sit in guard and control but Kanzaki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kanzaki drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kanzaki has Jackson in his guard. Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kanzaki is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kanzaki keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson looking to pass the guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kanzaki moves into the clinch successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Omar Jackson dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Kanzaki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kanzaki passes Jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ryo Kanzaki has got the better of the ground game so far. Kanzaki landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Kanzaki seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jackson is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
