8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julio Romerio! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis misses with a straight right. Romerio sizes up Davis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Davis bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Davis throws a right and a left that both miss. Davis connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Romerio's hands. Davis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Romerio moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Romerio has Davis pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Romerio pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Davis tumbling to the mat - Romerio dives into Davis's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Romerio passes easily into side control. Nice work. Romerio has hold of Davis's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Davis seems comfortable defending it but Romerio has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Davis is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Davis is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Romerio couldn't care less - he's delighted!
