8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronaldo Muyeira! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sho closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sho lands in his opponent's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Muyeira looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Sho is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Sho stands and throws Muyeira's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sho controls the position from side control. Sho wants to control but Muyeira is keeping him busy. Muyeira trying to remain calm as Sho controls from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Muyeira stops Sho from passing to mount. Sho grinds an elbow into Muyeira's temple. Sho landing a few strikes. Sho moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Sho trying to control the action but Muyeira is working from the bottom. Sho lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Sho slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sho landing a few strikes. Sho remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Sho wants to lay and pray for a moment but Muyeira keeps working. Muyeira takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. You can see the frustration on Muyeira's face as Sho controls the position. Sho trying to control the action but Muyeira is working from the bottom. Sho connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Muyeira some visible discomfort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sho landing a few strikes. Muyeira is trying to escape the position but Sho is controlling the position. Sho wants to control but Muyeira is keeping him busy. Muyeira on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Sho tries for a kimura but Muyeira is defending well. Sho trying to control the action but Muyeira is working from the bottom. Sho controlling from side mount. Muyeira is looking for a sweep. Sho scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Muyeira taking punishment in the form of punches.
