Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Galetlo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marc Hook! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hook stuffs the takedown. Marc Hook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Galetlo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hook throws a series of punches but Galetlo avoids them all with ease. Galetlo fails with the takedown and Hook counters with a left and a right that stings Galetlo. Galetlo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Galetlo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hook lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Johnny Galetlo has been cut. Hook stuffs the takedown. Hook misses with a wild combination.
Galetlo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Galetlo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Galetlo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hook doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Galetlo. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Galetlo wants to take a breather but Hook is having none of it. Galetlo seems to be looking for submissions.
Galetlo is breathing heavily. Galetlo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hook doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Galetlo. Hook wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Galetlo is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Hook still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Hook has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Hook advances to full mount. Galetlo regains half guard. Hook is keen to just control but Galetlo is a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Galetlo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hook pulls his head out easily. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hook wants to control but Galetlo is keeping him busy. Galetlo wants to get back to full guard. Galetlo actively working from the bottom here. Galetlo tries to get to full guard but Hook has control of the leg. It looks like Hook is going to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hook avoids the strikes from the bottom by Galetlo. Hook tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Galetlo tries to bench press Hook off him but Hook keeps the position. Galetlo misses with an elbow from the bottom. Hook really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Galetlo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hook wants to stand but Galetlo is controlling his arm. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Galetlo tries to improve position but can't. Galetlo is not content to let Hook control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Johnny Galetlo will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Johnny Galetlo's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A combination from Hook does no damage. Galetlo dodges the punch combination from Hook.
Galetlo gets a double leg takedown into Hook's guard. Galetlo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hook is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Galetlo, into his guard. Galetlo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hook doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Galetlo is tightening it up a little... Hook has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hook reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hook taps out! Nice BJJ there by Galetlo!
