Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Victor Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Snatch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hugo Snatch!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snatch throws a low kick, looking for Cruz's leg but Cruz calmly moves out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Snatch, right into the meat.

Crunch! Snatch slams his shin into Cruz's torso.
Cruz checks a leg kick.
Snatch misses with a head kick.
Snatch throws a low kick but Cruz avoids it.
Snatch throws a head kick that misses.
Cruz keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Cruz blocks a head kick by Snatch.
Snatch dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cruz. That did some damage!

Snatch lands a big head kick that sends Cruz tumbling to the mat! Snatch takes a step backwards and waves Cruz back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Cruz is rocked!


It looks like Victor Cruz has been cut.
Hugo Snatch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cruz takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Oh Cruz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Snatch tried to score with a low kick but Cruz checks it.
Cruz seems to have got his legs back now.

Cruz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Snatch sprawls well initially but Cruz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Snatch is trying to stand back up but Cruz is controlling him

Cruz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Snatch sees it coming and defends easily.

Cruz is working for a submission of some sort.
Cruz is breathing heavily.
Cruz trying to mount his opponent but Snatch defends it.
Snatch gets full guard.
Snatch is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Snatch might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cruz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Cruz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cruz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Snatch not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Snatch tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cruz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Snatch is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cruz is controlling him.

Cruz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cruz with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snatch is trying to keep Cruz in close.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Snatch wants to stand and escape but Cruz is having none of it.

Cruz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Snatch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cruz, into his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Snatch wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving.
Snatch must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Snatch missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cruz keeping moving, preventing Snatch from controlling successfully.
Cruz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Snatch wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hugo Snatch.
Snatch looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Cruz moves out of range of the body kick from Snatch.
Snatch throws a head kick that Cruz semi-blocks.
Snatch tries to land a front kick but Cruz steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cruz blocks a head kick by Snatch.
A solid leg kick lands there for Snatch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cruz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Snatch sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cruz somewhat.
A nice leg kick lands there from Snatch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hugo Snatch dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Victor Cruz's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Snatch throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Cruz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Cruz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Cruz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cruz prevents Snatch from improving his position.
Snatch manages to get to full guard.
Snatch wants to get back to his feet but Cruz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Cruz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Snatch dives on top into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cruz looking for a triangle here. Snatch is fighting it but it looks tight! Cruz pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Snatch is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Victor Cruz!
