Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Woodcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gavin Hardy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Woodcock! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardy shoots in looking for a takedown. Woodcock tries to sprawl out of it but Hardy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woodcock manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. James Woodcock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hardy moves out of range as Woodcock strikes. Woodcock closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Woodcock lands a takedown into guard.

Hardy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Woodcock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hardy is on top in guard.

Woodcock is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hardy defends it well. Woodcock trying to pass the guard but Hardy defending well.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Woodcock fails in his attempt to clinch. Woodcock shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Woodcock passes Hardy's left leg - he's now in half guard. Woodcock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hardy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Woodcock is working hard to pass the guard.
